Forest Park road leads to the Forest Park trail, which I hiked with friends to the Faulty trail for a day of fossil hunting.

Later, I rode the non-wilderness section of the Forest Park trail with side trails that parallel the wilderness boundary (This is the paler green strip on the map below). These trails are informal and are often steep, but extend for a distance in the National Forest. There will be more to explore here.
